Gift ideas for Christmas!

 GIFT IDEAS FOR CHRISTMAS

Let’s be honest. It has happened to all of us. It’s one week before Christmas and you still haven’t figured out what you will give people this year. Whether the gift receiver is your mom or a distant friend, here are 11 easy inexpensive gift ideas:

  1. Self-made art

Take a canvas and a brush and paint! Express your relationship to them through art. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a talented painter to get this one right. Just paint what you feel: abstract art, scenery, portraits… the options are never ending! This gift is nice because it shows that you took time and thought into it. Of course, other forms of art such as sculpture and furniture/home decor painting are also a great alternative to painting.

    2. Self-made clothing

Same as with art, you can buy a random piece of clothing and turn it into customised unique gift. You can write, paint, bleach, crop, print... just make sure that all of your material (markers, paint etc.) is made for textile and is washing machine safe, so that your gift not destroyed with the first washing.

     3. Photo collage

Is this person someone you have known for a long time? Do you have a lot of photos together? Then it's the right time to give them a photo collage! Simply print out all of your favourite photos of the two of you and glue them to a picture frame. Or you can make a photo collage on your phone, print it and put it into a photo frame.

    4. Books

You can simply never go wrong with a book. If you do not know what book to buy them, try to think of their interests. Or try to recall if they ever talked about the books they read. That way you can find something from the same genre. Another nice gift for a bookworm is an E-reader. However, as e-readers tend to be a little more expensive than just a book, think about it more thoroughly.

  5. Candles/Diffuser/Essential oils

Candles are one of my favourite things to get, because they are super universal, but at the same time very nice. Good thing about them is that their price ranges heavily, so you can decide exactly how much you want to invest. Diffusers and essential oils are amazing if your receiver is someone who loves interior scents.

  6. Chocolate

You might be like: why would I want to give someone chocolate, but hear me out. The advantage of chocolate is that it is very versatile, so there is a lot to choose from. Also, the prices range from nothing to very expensive, so again you can choose exactly how much you want to invest. High quality chocolate can be a really nice gift for a chocolate/sweets lover.

  7. Chocolate truffles

Another one of the homemade gifts you can make are these easy two ingredients chocolate truffles. They are so yummy and show that you really put effort into the gift.

 8. Matching jewellery

Looking for something to give to your bestie? Well here's your answer! Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, basically anything you can imagine. There are matching jewellery sets, but I think that it is also nice if you buy the same jewellery piece for them and for you.

9. Vouchers

Is your gift receiver not exactly a materialistic person? Then get them a voucher! Vouchers are amazing, because they can be used whenever the person wants and they create a unique experience. Some voucher ideas:

  • Sightseeing flights
  • Hotel stays
  • Bungee jumping
  • Skydiving
  • Cooking school
  • Language course...

  10. Gift cards

A lot of people think that giving a gift card showcases that you did not put enough thought into picking a gift for someone. I, on the other hand, think that gift cards are great if you don't know the person too well or just want them to decide what they want on their own. Gift cards can be used whenever the person wants and they can buy exactly what they want and need. Some gift card ideas:

  • Shopping malls
  • Clothing stores
  • Drug/Perfume stores
  • Cinemas
  • Bookstores
  • Coffee shops
  • Theatres
  • Aqua parks
  • Theme parks...

 11. DNA ancestry test

Last but not least, we have DNA tests. They are not the most expensive thing ever and you can do them at home. You will get info about your ancestors, where they came from, what ethnicity they were and more. These are great for people eager to know more about their family past.

   Final note:

I hope this post helped you with last minute Christmas gift preparation and that your gifts this year will make someone very happy. I want to say that Pinterest is an awesome source of ideas for when you are hopeless. I love to use it for all sorts of inspiration. Last tip from me would be to shop for things like candles and jewellery from local businesses, as they tend to be more original and home like. I hope you have an amazing Christmas time this year and see you next time!

With love,

Ronie
